I may have become a teensy-bit obsessed with sunscreen this summer [please note my paleness compared to Naomi below], but that doesn't mean I am not enjoying the sweet summer sun. Granted I am usually enjoying it in the evenings, I am enjoying it nonetheless.
Last night's sunset was exceptional (as they all seem to be lately), and I enjoyed the majority of it from the water with my closest friends. Southwest Michigan has a lot of wonderful things to offer, but the lake is by far my favorite. I love the way the sun sparkles off the water, almost as if it were a continuation of the sky. I would spend every waking hour at the lake if my schedule allowed. Last night I was at Weko Beach in Bridgman where my sister and I met up with friends after we finished up volunteering at Vacation Bible School, where we are spending our early evenings this week.
Last weekend was the Krasl Art Fair on the bluff in downtown St. Joseph, and I spent an afternoon walking around and enjoying the booths with Isaac. There were so many beautiful pieces. I look forward to going each summer, but going this year with an artist made it a little different. His compliments and critiques of different works forced me to look at the art in different ways that I would normally. I loved it.
I have the day off of work today, but that doesn't mean I'm not doing anything. I had a doctor appointment this morning, followed by a Caribou Coffee run. Of course I have to watch The Bachelorette episode from last night since I wasn't home to watch it, and I am sure that I will be able to find something else to do with my afternoon [beach?].
I cannot believe how quickly the summer is passing by. This happens every year, doesn't it? I still do not have any jobs lined up for the fall, but I working on it and trusting that God has something prepared for me.
